Ryan is a founder, and principal lawyer of Aura LLP. In his real estate practice, Ryan’s clients range from first-time home buyers to individuals and corporations with large-scale commercial and residential real estate investment portfolios in Canada. He has also frequently advises lenders in both commercial and residential real estate contexts.
In his commercial transactions practice, Ryan represents clients buying or selling businesses of all sizes; he has represented clients purchasing or selling franchises from some of the largest franchisees in Canada. He has also worked with clients in the start-up retail technology sector, and the construction sector. He regularly assists owners and builders with bid/tender contract interpretation and drafting.

A specialised portion of Ryan’s real estate practice is dedicated to co-ownership law. He has become a highly sought-after lawyer for those purchasing or selling commercial or residential property where multiple parties are involved. He provides advice to those co-buying or co-selling and has broad experience drafting co-ownership agreements and partnership agreements to facilitate buying or selling commercial or residential properties across Ontario.

Ryan is a frequent speaker at various workshops and conferences, on real estate transactions, co-ownership law and commercial lending. He has been an expert speaker for the Law Society of Ontario on topics related specifically to Co-Owning Real Estate in Ontario.

Recently, Ryan has established an online personality as Co-host of the Cash-In-Common Podcast and on his YouTube channel as “Ryan The Property Lawyer” where he educates new and experienced real estate buyers, sellers and lenders, on elements related to real estate law and the real estate market.

Prior to practicing law, Ryan was a full-time gigging and session musician and singer/songwriter. He has recorded and performed with several bands at some of Toronto’s most notable venues including the El Mocambo, Horseshoe Tavern, the Reverb, Nathan Phillips Square Center Stage and the Cameron House. Ryan continues to play and perform music in his spare time as a hobbyist. He is also a martial artist, golfer, and avid motorcyclist.
