Ryan practices real estate and commercial law.

In his commercial practice, Ryan represents clients buying or selling businesses of all sizes; he has represented clients purchasing or selling franchises from some of the largest franchisees in Canada. He has also worked with clients in the start-up space in the retail technology and construction sectors.  Ryan regularly assists owners and builders with bid/tender contract interpretation and drafting.

In his real estate practice, Ryan’s clients range from first-time home buyers to clients with large-scale real estate investment portfolios in both Canada and abroad.

A portion of Ryan’s real estate practice is specialised in co-ownership law. He has become a highly sought-after lawyer for those purchasing or selling commercial or residential property where multiple parties are involved. He provides advice to those co-buying or co-selling, and has broad experience drafting co-ownership agreements to facilitate the purchase and sale of commercial and residential properties across Ontario.

Ryan is a member of the Toronto Lawyers Association, the Urban Land Institute and the Canadian Bar Association.  He is frequently invited to speak at various workshops and conferences on real estate co-ownership, landlord and tenant Law, and real estate.

Prior to practising law, Ryan was a full-time gigging and session musician and singer/songwriter. He has recorded and performed with several bands at some of Toronto’s most notable venues, including the  El Mocombo, Horseshoe Tavern, the Reverb, Nathan Phillips Square Center Stage, and the Cameron House. Although he no longer actively performs on stage, he is an avid proponent of music and film education.  Ryan is an also a life-long martial artist and avid motorcycle enthusiast.

When not at the office, you can find Ryan “noodling” with his guitar at the office, training Jiu Jitsu at a local club or riding around the city on his motorcycle.
